The Department of Consumer and Employment Protection (DOCEP)
DOCEP administers the Companies (Co-operative) Act 1943 and the Co-operative and Provident Societies Act 1903.
The Department's regulatory responsibilities in this area include:

• Processing applications for registration from prospective co-operatives
• Maintaining a Register of Co-operatives
• Reviewing annual reports from co-operatives
• Investigating breaches of the legislation
• Providing legislative policy advice to the Government
